It is 99 degrees out there in the Sonoran Desert at the moment. We are here in the air conditioned goodness with the ceiling fans whirring, drinking cappuccinos. I am dreaming of autumn colors and crisp mountain air. We are planning a trip to southern Utah soon. To visit my parents. My Mom and Dad live in the tiny town where Mom was raised. I would say born but when she was born they had to drive 50 miles on a gravel road to Moab to the nearest hospital. (How would you like to go on that trip in labor?) So, very soon we will get to experience fall. Instead of waiting til the end of October for fall to appear here.
I can't wait for Ellie to experience a little bit of camping and some black mountain dirt. Seeing Gammie and Grandpa will be loverly too. They take such good care of us when we are there. Reminds me, I need to schedule a cat sitter.
This is a picture of the horse head on Blue Mountain. It is a right of passage spotting the horse head. My son was like 10 when he finally found it. Funny how you never not see it up there after you have found it. http://www.visitusa.com/utah/images/abajomountainspic.jpg

I don't see it! Wait, is it the cluster of trees in the middle? Cuz, that looks more like a donkey head to me. Oh dear.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like soaking up the Gammie and Grandpa love; glad you are planning a trip. 99 degree weather just ain't right.
Heidi, At least you saw a donkey "head". Maybe it really isn't a horses head at all and we have all been duped. Actually look for the horse's face and the blaze on it's face. The horse is looking right at you.
ReplyDeleteYep, way happy to be getting outa the heat. Should be lots of fun. Hoping I get to do some ATVing. The Ellie is a bit of a cling on these days.
Yes!! I see it. Thanks for the blaze tip!
ReplyDeleteYay Heidi! You found it. Now you belong to the Secret Society of the Horse Head. (Pretty sure they won't make you wear funky underwear in the secret society but I can't guarantee it.) If you are ever in Monticello,Utah you will be in the know for sure.
