Flashback Friday: Kindergarten 1969

Look at us; we look like we just walked off the set of Mad Men. I am the little blonde sitting on the bench front and center. (From left to right 5th girl in).  I loved my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Halper. I remember her being very kind and soft spoken.  We went to her home once for a field trip. I think it was field day actually. She lived in a huge house by the sea. We had field day out on her front lawn. I asked Mrs.Halper for a tour of her house and I remember her laughing and taking me for a tour. Just me.  See the little girl with the white "go go boots" ? I was so covetous of those "go go boots". See the little boy on the back row 2nd from left ? He was my best friend. His name was Tikey. I loved Tikey. Named our button turtle after him.  My other little friend was from Switzerland and he wore Lederhosen for picture day.  He was cute with freckles. I loved Kindergarten. I so hope Ellie will too.

My Mom cut my hair for me just special for picture day. Linking up to  Heya Sparky and Jen .

Ellie's New High Chair

This is Ellie's new high chair and  she loves it. We had another high chair that she refused to sit in.  I hated that chair from the moment we purchased it. The ergonomics of the chair were all wrong.  She couldn't sit up straight in it and all her food fell down her front. Her feet were never supported.  (I gleaned from another mommy blog that foot support in a high chair is really important).  So I finally stopped moaning about it and purchased another chair. This high chair comes with the all important adjustable platform for her feet. We are so thrilled she is sitting and eating happily now.  She will eat just about anything in this chair. It is like magic.  The  high chair will grow with her.  It says it will hold up to 250lbs. Ummm, pretty sure not many 250 lb. children exist;  I suppose it is nice to know that the chair really is that sturdy.
